Description of Work Provided
Garner Economics and Primus Builders were contracted by the Columbus County Economic Development Commission (NC) to assess the 158-acre Southeast Regional Park for its suitability as a food processing site.
In addition to submitting the 158-acre Southeast Regional Park to an assessment against the more than 100 rigorous criteria to judge its readiness to provide a competitive location for food and beverage manufacturing facilities, the Primus/Garner team provided Columbus County with a labor survey focused on those job classifications that food and beverage processors typically seek. Additionally, renderings, dimensions, and resource needs of a virtual spec building were provided to give the Columbus County Economic Development Commission to provide a fuller sense of how the site could be used. The site certification process showed how the Southeast Regional Park meets or exceeds the needs of a food industry manufacturer, food and beverage processing facility, cold storage and/or food distribution facility.
